Alberti set out to capture capture the faces of women before, during and after orgasms by a Brazilian photographer on a mission to 'break down the barriers of female sexual well-being'

The man behind the racy project, Marcos Alberti, has titled it The O Project and promises to 'present female sexuality like it's never been done'

Alberti captured the facial expressions of more than 20 women before, during, and after climax while using vibrators

Alberti found fame for his 2016 3 Glasses project on drinking alcohol in moderation

Run in association with sexual well-being brand Smile Makers, Alberti presents four photos showing the progression of each woman's facial changes as she reaches - and recovers from - an orgasm

Despite the daring nature of the headshots, everything below the waist hidden from view - even from the photographer

The women span all ethnicities and nationalities, including the USA, France, China and Singapore

According to Alberti, the underlying message is that 'all women deserve to be in control of their sexuality, no matter their background'

Commenting on the project, Fan Yang, Global Brand Manager of Smile Makers said: 'Female sexuality is more often shrouded in shame and secrecy'

Fan Yang added: 'All the women who modelled were in awe of their photos, especially the final shot where they were glowing and radiant'

Commenting on the content of the photos, Fan Yang said: 'That final shot, of a strong female grinning into the camera, is exactly what we want people to see'

'We hope that everyone viewing this project will feel more confident about their bodies and sexuality,' says Yang. 'All it takes is one smile at a time'

Photographer Marcos Alberti said of his project: 'I love that we were able to speak so frankly with these women about sex and pleasure'

Alberti said: 'When you approach the taboo topic of sex through the lens of humor, people start to open up and share opinions more freely, which can lead to a monumental change in people's mentality'

Viral fame: Alberti first made international headlines last year with his photo project '3 Glasses', he captures his subjects in their natural state, then after one, two, and three glasses of wine

Alberti said it was important to involve women of all ages, ethnicities and ages in the project

The snapper said he was pleased to be able to speak to women 'frankly' about sex and pleasure in the project, which he has written about on his website

Halfway up: Alberti couldn't see anything below the waist, and neither can the viewer
