Olivia Newton-John lést í gær, 73 ára að aldri, en hún var heimsþekkt leik- og söngkona, ekki hvað síst fyrir hlutverk sitt í bíómyndinni Grease sem kom út árið 1978. Hún hafði áður slegið í gegn sem söngkona en lög á borð við You‘re the One that I Want, Summer Nights og Hopelessly Devoted to You úr Grease lifa hvað lengst í minnum fólks.
John Easterling, eiginmaður hennar, segir hana hafi látist friðsamlega í morgun umkringd vinum og fjölskyldu. Hún hafði barist við brjóstakrabbamein síðustu þrjátíu ár. Newton-John eignaðist eina dóttur, Chloe Lattanzi, með fyrrverandi eiginmanni sínum, leikaranum Matt Lattanzi.
Þegar fregnirnar bárust logaði allt á samfélagsmiðlum og hefur hver á eftir öðrum lofsungið skemmtikraftinn ógleymanlega. Hér má sjá fáein brot af ummælum frægra netverja.

Since I was ten years old, I have loved and looked up to Olivia Newton John. And, I always will. (Just like this picture @nfsaonline) She was, and always will be, an inspiration to me in so many, many ways. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. x ONJ4EVER pic.twitter.com/3nE8PVDFLy

We have lost a great, iconic artist in Olivia Newton John, gone too soon from us at age 73. I trust she is now in the great Xanadu beyond. Know that we are forever hopelessly devoted to you, Olivia. Rest in song and mirth.

In my play The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, a gogo boy on acid has a spiritual vision of Olivia Newton-John blessing the gay community. She had the ideal radiant spirit- everyone adored her pic.twitter.com/7i5W0BafY8

Have always loved this slower live version of Olivia Newton-John's 'Physical'. I was at this Opera House concert and, if I recall correctly, she was battling a cold so drank tea throughout the performance so she could keep going. https://t.co/dt2dFFVRQA
